Belle's Great Escape
This weekend we traveled home to our parents farm for the family Christmas. Jesse, Skye, Bo and Belle stayed at my parents farm in the heated shed while we went to the Stampe family Christmas party. Just as we were opening gifts I got a call from my dad. He had let the dogs out to run and potty but couldn't get Belle back into the shed. And that's where her adventure begins.....
Dad got Belle into the garage by the house and went to grab a leash to take her back to the heated garage with the others. With his back turned he heard a loud [CRASH]! Baby Belle had broken through the glass storm door to get back outside and was off running towards the town!
I drove down the gravel road 1/2 way to town to intercept her. (Had to run 1/4 mile through the corn field to catch up with her!) She was happy to see the warm Jimmy parked on the road and eagerly climbed into the back. It was around -10 without the wind chill! We drove back to the farm and to the warmth of the shed, I got kisses the whole way back.
Luckily Belle has a hard head. She didn't have a single scratch on her from breaking through the glass. She seemed to enjoy her run and adventure, but hopefully she doesn't do it again!!!
